Description: Our client is currently seeking - Network Engineer
- Role: Network Engineer / Support Specialist
- Purpose: Provide technical support for edge networks across agencies, including planning, design, maintenance, and integration of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless, cellular appliances).
- Perform network monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution using industry tools.
- Assist in LAN/WAN architecture design, including bandwidth analysis and schematic drawings.
- Support planned deployments, upgrades, and change management efforts.
- Handle ServiceNow/Remedy tickets, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
- Provide Tier 2 support for widespread incidents.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements during hardware refresh cycles.
- Maintain Visio diagrams and configuration documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OA security requirements.
- Collaborate with IT staff, agency operations, and business partners on network-related issues.
- Stay current with routing protocols, monitoring tools, and automation practices.
Requirements
- Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or higher).
- Experience: Several years in large-scale environments with demonstrable hands-on expertise.
- Skills: Strong communication (oral & written), technical troubleshooting, network design, and customer service.
ADA & Physical Requirements
- Operate PCs, servers, phones, printers, and other office equipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and work from a step ladder.
Essential Functions
- Operate IT and telecom equipment.
- Read and comprehend technical literature.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Assess and resolve technical issues independently.
- Stay updated on emerging networking technologies.
