Job Duties:

The DARS Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced IT Lead Network Manager to oversee the design, implementation, and support of our enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, you will lead network engineering projects and support, manage network operability and performance, ensure network security and scalability, provide mentoring and managing the WWRC DARS IT engineering support staff, and ensure a high level of customer service and service delivery is provided to all staff and clients at WWRC.

This position will report directly to the DARS IT Director and will assist with the administration and governance of the DARS IT Engineering Support Team and support duties at the Wilson Workforce Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville VA.

Job Duties (including but are not limited to):

Lead the planning, configuration, and administration of WWRC LAN, WAN, and VPN systems
Oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.)
Monitor and analyze network performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime
Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion prevention, and access controls
Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
Provide escalation support for complex network issues, ensuring timely resolution
Mentor and assign tasks to the WWRC network engineers and IT staff
Collaborate with vendors and DARS cross-functional teams on infrastructure upgrades, project, and network issues

Minimum Qualifications:

Some experience as an IT Systems or Network Engineer or Analyst and/or similar roles and responsibilities
Considerable progressive responsible IT systems or network engineering experience, with some experience in an IT leadership role
Strong expertise with Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft, or equivalent enterprise networking and VPN platforms and applications
Strong proficiency with network servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access point hardware and devices

Skills/Abilities:
Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
Forward thinking skills; ability to implement corrective actions to resolve issues, ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/Certification/License:
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and meet agency driving eligibility requirements, as frequent travel to customer/partner offices is required

Additional Considerations:

Active work experience working with Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch agencies and/or the Virginia Information Technology Agency in an IT support role.
