Full Time
On site for first 60-90 days then transitions to hybrid- Queens, NY
$120-125K plus Exceptional Benefits
Full Stack Ruby on Rails Development 7 years experience plus
We are seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer who will be responsible for building and maintaining our web applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. You'll work closely with product managers and designers to bring exciting new features and improvements to life.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze existing mainframe programs and reports for migration to distributed environments
Assist in migrating and optimizing legacy applications and data to new platforms
Recreate and validate legacy reports using modern development and reporting tools
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis
Develop subject matter expertise in third-party vendor applications
Migrate and modernize workloads to Windows/Linux systems or cloud-based platforms
Follow established Change Management procedures to promote code and system changes to production
Ensure all documentation aligns with IT policies, standards, and audit requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 7 years of experience in programming and/or report development
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Hands-on experience with legacy platforms (IBM mainframe, midrange systems) preferred
Proficiency in:
Programming languages and frameworks: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, SQL, CSS
RESTful services and APIs
Full-stack development methodologies
Solid experience with relational databases: DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Strong data integration, transformation, and normalization experience
Familiarity with file formats and data handling (CSV, text, delimited files)
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Access
Experience with change management tools and SDLC processes
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong customer service orientation
