Position Title: Wi-Fi QA Engineer Location: Philadelphia, PA
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Wi-Fi QA Engineer with strong telecom domain expertise to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of WLAN protocols, Wi-Fi security, and advanced testing methodologies, along with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure world-class wireless product performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute and manage Wi-Fi quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and product requirements.
Analyze and validate WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) across various devices and network environments.
Evaluate and implement security protocols such as WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X.
Test and optimize Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networks, and steering protocols (802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r).
Collaborate with Product and Development teams to define and refine technical requirements.
Characterize Wi-Fi behavior for new products, identify performance gaps, and drive engineering resolutions.
Work closely with tool development teams to enhance automation for new test features.
Review and validate design specifications with a focus on architecture, testability, and verification.
Develop and execute Quality Assurance strategies and methodologies for telecom/Wi-Fi product testing.
Utilize advanced Wi-Fi test automation frameworks and adhere to industry standards (IEEE, WFA, WBA, IETF).
Proactively detect, document, and resolve defects to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).
Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X).
Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networking, and steering protocols (802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r).
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Development, and QA.
Strong understanding of advanced Wi-Fi test automation tools and frameworks.
Familiarity with telecom domain testing standards and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) certification processes.
Knowledge of scripting languages for test automation (Python, Shell, etc.).
Understanding of network performance analysis tools.
