Our challenge

This resource will be part of our growing Infrastructure Automation Team within Public Cloud. This role will be key in working with various infrastructure teams (Security, Networking, Database, Unix) to develop, deploy and support cloud and hybrid applications. Due to the collaborative nature of the role, it will be important that this resource be senior in both DevOps / AWS / technical skills and interpersonal skills. Candidate should have strong communication, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills to partner with broader global technology engineering, information security and line of business teams.

Additional Information - New York Only*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is $120k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities :
  • Use Terraform to develop and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure applications in AWS.
  • Assist in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Develop best practices for the implementation, use and support of EC2 and Database based resources.
  • Design, develop and implement automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration solutions.
  • Provide consulting and help build pipelines for application teams integrating cloud services into their application.
  • Design and develop automation for governing usage of cloud services.
  • Design and implement workflows to automate the release and upgrade process for applications in Development, Test and Production environments.
  • Create and update support documentation and standards.
  • Develop automated methodologies for deployment activities, configuration management, supporting systems and business processes.
  • Use Jira to track and manage all work through the development life cycle.
  • Proactively analyze and contribute improvements to support our deployment processes.
  • Investigate and contribute to solving various issues in production environments.
  • Drive compliance and security efforts related to systems managed by the team.


Requirements:

You are:
  • 5+ years' experience in AWS
  • 5+ years' experience in infrastructure, including compute, network, database, and security.
  • Strong proficiency with Bitbucket/Git, Terraform, Unix, Jenkins, Python, Ansible, and AWS CLI
  • 5+ years' experience with autoscaling and container-based solutions like ALB, ASG, Batch and ECS.
  • Experience in implementing Secure Architectures for private and/or public internet facing systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure, and best practices. Such as K8S, Containers, Serverless, Microservices
  • Strong understanding of IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, CloudFormation, Bamboo etc.
  • Strong understanding of networking and internet protocols and distributed systems
  • Experience designing and developing resilient, highly available and scalable systems for the cloud.
  • Working knowledge of Shared Responsibility models
  • Prior experience building out CI/CD pipelines.
It would be great if you also had:
  • Azure experience a plus
  • AWS professional and/or specialty certification, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer a plus
