Manual QA Tester

Location/Remote: Hybrid remote in Englewood, CO 80112 (i.e., 4 days onsite/week)

Employment Type: 9-month W-2/1099 contract (eligible to extend for multiple years)

Compensation: Up to $60/hour W-2 or $67/hour 1099/Independent Contractor (i.e., no 3rd party C2C)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Manual Video QA Tester to join our IP Video Test team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the quality and performance of our video applications across various platforms. You will be responsible for comprehensive manual testing, identifying and documenting bugs, and validating basic API functionalities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough manual testing of IP video applications, including Digital Ad Insertion (DAI), Over-The-Top (OTT) content, live streaming, smart TV applications, mobile platforms, and Set-Top Box (STB) experiences.
• Execute test cases to validate video playback, streaming quality, ad insertion, content delivery, and overall user experience.
• Identify, document, and track bugs using Jira, providing clear and concise reproduction steps.
• Utilize tools such as Splunk, Postman, and Charles Proxy to assist in troubleshooting and validating API responses.
• Collaborate closely with development and product teams to ensure a high-quality product.
• Participate in test case creation, test plan development, and test strategy discussions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in testing video applications is a MUST (e.g., streaming services, video players, ad insertion).
• Strong understanding of video delivery workflows and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with manual testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with validating basic API functionalities.
• Proficiency with testing tools such as Jira, Splunk, Postman, and Charles Proxy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

• Experience with specific video platforms like Xumo.
• Prior experience working at companies involved in video content or streaming (e.g., Dish, Starz, Comcast, NBC Universal, Charter), provided your experience specifically involved video application testing.
