Job Details

Cloud DevOps Engineer (.NET to EKS/EC2 with Jenkins GovCloud)

Introduction:

This position is for a Cloud DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for leading the migration of .NET applications to Amazon EKS (Windows containers where applicable) and/or EC2. The candidate will also be tasked with setting up and optimizing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security scanning, container image packaging, and deployment to EKS/EC2 environments. Additionally, the Cloud DevOps Engineer will define Kubernetes manifests, manage namespaces, networking, secrets, and observability using tools like CloudWatch and Prometheus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead migration of .NET applications to Amazon EKS (Windows containers where applicable) and/or EC2, including environment design and cutover strategy.
  • Set up and optimize Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security scanning, container image packaging, and deployment to EKS/EC2.
  • Define Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, namespaces, networking/ingress, secrets management, and observability using CloudWatch/Prometheus.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation) to provision repeatable environments (EKS node groups incl. Windows, EC2 ASGs, VPC, security groups).
  • Establish blue/green or rolling deployment strategies with automated rollback, smoke tests, and change control alignment.

Requirements:

Required:

  • 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, with hands-on experience in AWS EKS and EC2 deployments.
  • Proven experience migrating .NET Framework/ASP.NET apps using Windows containers or rehosting to EC2.
  • Strong Jenkins pipeline development skills, including declarative pipelines, shared libraries, and integration with ECR/Kubernetes.
  • Practical expertise with Docker, Amazon ECR, networking (VPC/ALB/NLB), IAM, and secrets management.
  • Solid grasp of logging/monitoring using CloudWatch, container logs, metrics/alerts, and security best practices in GovCloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows authentication/gMSA and IIS in containers; migration to .NET 6/8 where feasible.
