Role Overview

The Program Manager will lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within the retail domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives, agile delivery practices, and stakeholder expectations. The role requires strong expertise in SAFe Agile frameworks, program governance, and managing multi-stream digital transformation projects for retail enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end program delivery across multiple Agile release trains (ARTs), ensuring alignment with business goals and retail customer experience objectives.
  • Drive program execution using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles—facilitating PI planning, dependency management, and cross-team coordination.
  • Partner with Product Management, Architecture, and Engineering teams to define roadmaps and delivery milestones.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resource planning across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in delivery velocity, quality, and collaboration through Agile metrics and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with retail business stakeholders on initiatives related to eCommerce, POS systems, supply chain, merchandising, and omnichannel transformation.
  • Establish and maintain strong governance and reporting mechanisms—status updates, dashboards, and executive communications.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships where applicable, ensuring contract and SLA adherence.
  • Champion Agile maturity and coach teams and leaders in SAFe practices and principles.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of program/project management experience, with 5+ years in Agile delivery.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale programs in the Retail / eCommerce domain.
  • Strong understanding of SAFe Agile methodology (preferably SAFe SPC, RTE, or POPM certified).
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience managing digital, data analytics, or ERP modernization programs in retail.
  • PMP or Agile certifications preferred (SAFe, CSM, PMI-ACP).
