Job Description:

In this position you will perform road and highway design tasks and civil engineering calculations and analysis. You will be tasked with geometric layout, construction specification development and material quantity calculations. You will utilize MicroStation and 3D modeling software and interface with CAD designers, as well as other engineers and subconsultants. Keys to your success will be your civil engineering acumen and road and highway background.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads and develops the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes assisting in defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
  • Design and analyze bridges of all sizes and scope; Deliverables may include structural designs or structural stability assessments for single span, multiple spans, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, precast concrete and steel bridges
  • Typical tasks may include detailed performing and reviewing detailed calculations, 3D models, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses; Will perform some bridge scour analysis to support project
  • Provides oversight and guidance to junior engineers on design and other engineering activities as required.
  • Works with other disciplines (i.e. drainage, roadway, structural) to produce deliverables.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads and/or OpenRoads is required.
  • VA/MD/DC experience is highly desired
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Must have at least 12 years or more experience with bridge design
  • Candidate should be registered PE
  • Roadway geometric design background required.
  • Experience with policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Experience on design-build projects is desirable.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills (written and verbal)

Salary Range:
$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
