Job Details
Job Title: Release Manager
Type: Fulltime
Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)
Responsibilities:
- To ensure that Engineering meets timelines and prepare releases ahead of time as per release checklist and schedule
- To work with Dev/Product leads and create Change tasks and attend CAB meeting for approvals.
- Ensure all the changes are reviewed and meet standards, dependencies added as TASK
- To ensure code, Impact analysis and merge requests ready for release, work along with Data Engineering team on review call.
- To ensure validations (Syntax, performance, unit and Integration/load testing) is followed in Development.
- To work with Dev leads to merge changes to Production in Git.
- To produce deployment checklist and run books plans for Data Engineering team
- To conduct Transition to Production support team before release schedule.
- To validate release notes and send release email to Business, Downstream users, Data Engineering and Production Support team.
- To ensure post deployment validation is performed by Data Engineering team
- Experience working as a team and good at Team management.
- Work on Release Automation (Integrations needed for Jira, ServiceNow, auto UAT test deployment setup(work with
- OA team) etc)
- Layout plan for releases on Google Cloud Platform platform.
- Call out Risks/conduct rollbacks in prod
Requirements:
- Experience working with service now, Jira Hands-on experience with Incident and problem management;
- 5+ years of experience working as Release Manager.
- Basic experience or knowledge on Azure/Google Cloud Platform platform.
- Good experience working with Jenkins, other CI/CD tools and GitHub;
- Experience in reviewing code, Impact analysis, validations and merge requests on development and Master branch in Git.
- Experience working in confluence/ Wiki for documentation
- Exhibits a strong sense of urgency for high severity Incidents/Issues. Able to assess the customer impact and work along with Dev teams for tactical solutions;
