Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support a large-scale Agile transformation initiative. The RTE will act as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring smooth program execution, alignment with enterprise strategy, and continuous improvement across teams. The ideal candidate has deep SAFe experience, strong coaching ability, and excels at facilitating PI Planning, sync events, metrics, and flow optimization.


Key Responsibilities

Facilitate PI Planning

Prepare ART backlog, input readiness, and PI Planning logistics

Lead onsite/in-person two-day PI Planning events

Ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, OKRs, and program objectives

Support PI Execution

Track and report ART flow metrics (velocity, cycle time, predictability, dependencies)

Facilitate essential ceremonies:

Coach Sync

PO Sync

System Demos

Inspect & Adapt (I&A)

Promote DevOps maturity and continuous delivery

Support backlog refinement and coordinate cross-ART dependencies

Collaborate with Business Owners on defining business value

Coach and Mentor the ART

Coach Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Architects, and Business Owners

Use powerful questioning techniques to drive self-discovery and team improvements

Ensure all ART and team ceremonies adhere to SAFe principles

Optimize Flow

Establish pull systems, flow metrics, and data-driven decision-making

Facilitate value stream mapping workshops

Identify and eliminate cross-team bottlenecks

Drive Relentless Improvement

Lead TeamHealth assessments and Inspect & Adapt events

Foster built-in quality, collaboration, and Lean-Agile mindsets

Partner with transformation and enterprise agility teams

Servant Leadership

Create a culture of transparency, empowerment, and shared leadership

Support teams in problem-solving and decision-making

Represent the ART to leadership and deliver clear presentations

Scaled Agile Practice Consultant (SPC / SAPC) 6.0
