Job Title: AWS Architect (with Java/Node.js Programming Expertise)

Location: Plano, TX
Employment Type: Long Term Contract

Experience Level: 8+ years (with minimum 3+ years in AWS architecture and development)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect with strong programming skills in Java or JavaScript/Node.js to design, implement, and optimize scalable cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will blend cloud architecture expertise with hands-on coding abilities, ensuring our applications are secure, high-performing, and cost-optimized on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture: Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure AWS cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Cloud Development: Build serverless applications, APIs, and microservices using Java or Node.js.
  • Cloud Migration: Lead migration of existing applications to AWS cloud environments with minimal downtime.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage infrastructure using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
  • DevOps Enablement: Integrate CI/CD pipelines with AWS services (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Security & Compliance: Implement AWS security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Optimization: Monitor and fine-tune performance, reliability, and cost of cloud workloads.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and operations teams to drive cloud-first strategies.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and developers on AWS best practices and coding standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and development.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, etc.).
    • Strong coding background in Java or Node.js (Express.js, Spring Boot, or equivalent frameworks).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Deep knowledge of serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Step Functions).
    • Experience with microservices and RESTful API design.
    • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kinesis).
    • Strong grasp of DevOps, CI/CD, and Git-based workflows.
    • Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional/Associate.
    • AWS Certified Developer Associate.
