Job Overview:
As an Engineer 2, you will leverage your technical expertise to solve complex business problems and serve as a subject matter expert in your area of focus. This role involves evaluating technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation, and making recommendations for improvements. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions that align with their expectations. This position supports a rapidly growing cloud enablement engine application and infrastructure portfolio, automating configurations and templates for AWS/Azure services, managing cloud-based services, and ensuring reliability through monitoring and instrumentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Automate configurations and templates for AWS/Azure services.
  • Manage AWS/Azure-based services and ensure reliability through monitoring.
  • Create and modify medium to complex Python and Terraform (HCL) code.
  • Perform local development builds and contribute to code reviews, planning, and testing.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for production environments.
  • Collaborate with cloud vendors and external technical support for upgrades and problem resolution.
  • Work closely with development teams to provide services and support.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of Python (boto3) and Terraform development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with core AWS services (e.g., Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch).
  • 2+ years of experience with core Azure services (e.g., Azure Policies, VNETS, Blob Storage).
  • Experience writing Terraform modules (HCL).
  • Strong commitment to incorporating security into daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members and customers.
  • Experience designing and building web application cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Linux command line interface.
  • Knowledge of software design methodologies and patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and SDLC.
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g., git, BitBucket, GitHub).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Linux package management (e.g., rpm, yum).
  • Experience with HTTP/Proxy servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx).
  • Experience with Java web application platforms (e.g., Tomcat, Spring Boot).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with log aggregation tools (e.g., Splunk).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Knowledge of systems performance tuning and load testing.
  • Familiarity with large-scale systems and methodologies.

Pay Range: $55-70/ HR W2
