Director - DevOps Engineering

What does a successful Senior DevOps Engineer do?

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Fiserv, you will be essential in enhancing our software delivery processes, improving system reliability, and fostering a collaborative DevOps culture. You will help build better systems and products on distributed on-prem infrastructure and Microsoft Azure Cloud. By bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, you play a critical role in automating workflows, ensuring system reliability, and driving efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.

What you will do:

• Design and implement the overall DevOps strategy, identifying areas for improvement and creating a roadmap for DevOps transformation.
• Partner with Development and IT operations to ensure smooth integration of software releases into production environments.
• Implement automation and integration processes, automating tasks like code deployment and infrastructure provisioning for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
• Ensure system reliability and efficiency by implementing monitoring systems, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing performance.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.

What you will need to have:

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps focusing on distributed on-prem and cloud environments.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience, preferably in FinTech, Financial Services, or SaaS environments.
• Mastery in automation tools and scripting languages, including proficiency in cloud platforms, scripting languages (Python, Bash), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.

What would be great to have:

• 4+ years of experience with specific tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• 5+ years of experience in system architecture, including cloud services, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• 4+ years of leadership and management experience to effectively lead teams and drive transformation.
• 4+ years of experience in adapting to new technologies and methods to maintain a continuous learning mindset.
