About the Role

We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer with strong proficiency in React and Python to join our client s team on a contract basis. The role is fully on-site in Boston, working alongside product and quant teams in a fast-paced, finance-focused environment.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications with a focus on performance, usability, and scalability. Candidates with a background in financial services or quantitative systems will thrive in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain front-end applications using React and TypeScript

  • Build and scale back-end services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)

  • Collaborate closely with quants, product managers, and fellow engineers

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with high reliability and low latency

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions

  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues as needed


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer

  • Strong expertise in React, with solid knowledge of state management and UI/UX best practices

  • Hands-on experience building robust back-end services in Python

  • Proficient in writing clean REST APIs and working with modern development tools

  • Excellent understanding of database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

  • Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure)

  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills

  • Must be local to Boston and available to work on-site


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in finance, trading, or quantitative environments

  • Exposure to financial instruments, data pipelines, or portfolio analytics

  • Experience with WebSockets, real-time data processing, or time-series databases
