Job Details

Job Title: Java Infrastructure Developer (WebSphere / Middleware / Linux / DB2)

Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Infrastructure Developer with strong experience in WebSphere Application Server, middleware platforms, Linux environments, and DB2 databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and supporting the application infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and manage enterprise middleware platforms (WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat).

  • Install, upgrade, and patch Java-based application servers and components.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Python, Ansible) for infrastructure tasks.

  • Administer and optimize DB2 databases, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and middleware-related issues in Linux environments.

  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and network teams to ensure seamless deployment pipelines.

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure health and application metrics.

  • Participate in infrastructure capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises.

  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with WebSphere Application Server (ND, Liberty preferred).

  • Deep understanding of Java EE infrastructure and deployment models.

  • Expertise in Linux/Unix system administration and scripting (bash, ksh, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with IBM DB2: installation, configuration, tuning.

  • Familiarity with middleware technologies: JMS, MQ, Web Services, APIs.

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and performance tuning skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • IBM Certified System Administrator or similar certifications.

  • Experience with high-availability and clustering technologies.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) is a plus.
