Our government client is looking for an experienced Network Administrator on an onsite 12+ months renewable contract role in Tallahassee, FL.

Job Overview:
The services provided will involve managing the agency IT network infrastructure, including servers, network hardware, and software applications, under minimal supervision. The duties of network administrator include maintaining and managing the IT infrastructure and network. Installing, sustaining, and supporting VoIP, LAN, and WAN infrastructures across the entire organization will fall within the purview of this role. Additionally, this person should have a high degree of success integrating and/or troubleshooting network, VPN, firewall, Windows Servers/VMs, and cloud service issues.
Job Characteristics:
This consultant will oversee effectively the agency’s Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN and WAN). Specialized knowledge in the fields of voice, video, and data networks, server hardware and software, and telecommunications is required for this job class. Network Administrators handle more complex systems, deal with highly technical issues that require more knowledge and independent judgment than lower-level positions and are management-level positions with supervisory responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
The consultant is required to have professional working experience at an advanced level to carry out the following job duties.
• Managing domains: Creating and managing user accounts, assigning passwords, and specifying group memberships and monitoring compliance with AD policies and standards
• Auditing user permissions: Organizing users into groups to easily assign permissions to shared resources.
• Developing disaster recovery strategies and monitoring compliance with AD policies and standards.
• Develop documentation and diagrams of the entire agency network.
• Replicating directory information and making enterprise-level changes to the Active Directory also monitoring synchronization, replication, and reviewing DC events and security logs
• Controls the daily operation of computer networks, including LAN-toLAN and WAN systems; plans, suggest, and help with the design of local or distant computer systems; assesses system performance and makes recommendations.
• Provides technical assistance and support to users of the Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, and the Intranet /Internet.
• Manages agency’s physical and virtual servers in a Windows and Azure environment, ensuring that each server has as close to 100% uptime as is practicable.
• Assists in maintaining security of routers, and servers from unauthorized intrusion by either physical or by remote electronic means.
• Researches and recommends network hardware and software including telecommunications methods and protocols.
• Selects and installs bridges, routers, switches, hubs and related equipment that support various networking protocols, and assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system software.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems, monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; monitors data to optimize network performance; and resolves critical network failures.
• Develops and implements network support and operational procedures; maintains existing LAN, internet, DNS, database and electronic mail servers.
• Develops and maintains archiving procedures: researches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking.
• Monitors the billing for network-related services provided to district customers.
• Participates in community and statewide work groups relevant to his/her areas of expertise; conducts local and regional technical workshops as directed.
• Serves as a primary contact with networking service providers and customers and plays a key role in negotiating and developing plans for future services; keeps abreast of new hardware or software products for system enhancements.
• Consults with technology task force and contributes to the planning of statewide infrastructure for voice, video and data networks; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services.
