Job Details

We are seeking a Sr. Cloud Architect (Lead) to spearhead a high-velocity migration of 100+ mission-critical applications to the Government Cloud. This is not a standard "lift-and-shift" role; you will architect the transformation of a complex 256-server legacy footprint (including Windows/Linux/AIX/Solaris) into a secure, FedRAMP High-compliant cloud environment using AI and automation processes.

Serve as the primary technical authority, leading a team of engineers to execute parallel migration waves while ensuring strict adherence to NIST 800-53 security standards.
Location: Hybrid (Remote / On-site in Washington, D.C. or St. Louis, MO as required)
Clearance: Public Trust (Ability to obtain)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy a secure Hub-and-Spoke Landing Zone topology that meets FedRAMP High requirements, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep).
  • Lead the technical execution of the "Wave" migration strategy, managing parallel tracks for rapid Windows/Linux rehosting and complex AIX/Solaris refactoring.
  • Develop strategies for migrating legacy Power workloads (AIX/Solaris), determining the optimal path between Emulation (e.g., Skytap) and Refactoring to Linux.
  • Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) to automate security gates (SAST/DAST) and continuous compliance reporting.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison with Government application owners, guiding them through the "Shared Responsibility Model" and ensuring zero-downtime cutovers.

Mandatory Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions in AWS or Azure for federal or large enterprise environments.
Certification: Must hold at least one Professional-level Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in Legacy-to-Cloud migrations, specifically involving IBM Power Systems (AIX/Solaris) to Azure/AWS.
  • Experience with Skytap or similar emulation tools for Unix workloads.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and FISMA compliance standards.
  • Experience leading "Migration Factory" teams in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
