Shift Timing: Normal Business Hours. Position is Hybrid - onsite 2 days per week.

Description:

Position summary:

  • Under general direction of the Corporate Manager - Payroll, responsible for the reconciliation of specific payroll batches as well as the manual check account.
  • Responsible for supporting the overall department in highly visible, specialized projects.
  • Handles a large volume of highly sensitive, payroll and tax-related information in an accurate, expedited, and confidential manner for a specific group or groups of AB associates.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  1. Specializes in key payroll and tax related projects as directed by payroll management.
  2. Compiles, prepares, processes and inputs payroll information to produce timely and accurate payroll
  3. Ensures integrity with data in the system by inputting data accurately and completely.
  4. Properly administers all payroll-related functions in compliance with the Corporate Payroll Department s standard operating procedures.
  5. Audits and approves all payroll transactions related to payroll to ensure compliance from a tax perspective as well as AB policy.
  6. Prepares manual payments and maintains proper documentation for SOX compliance
  7. Responsible for all facets of payroll processing including interfacing with the payroll system and Kronos time-keeping system.
  8. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, salary data and associate benefits information maintained in the HRIS system.
  9. Research issues and promptly resolves associate requests and inquiries.
  10. Ensures that the specific pay group he/she is responsible for is processed in time for centralized processing, contributing to a successful payroll every other week.
  11. Collaborates closely with other departments within HR Shared Services
  12. Performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and educational requirements:

  • Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred.

Minimum skills, knowledge and ability requirements:

  1. Good understanding of payroll processing software programs, preferably Workday.
  2. Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and related tax applications.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills.
  5. Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations.
  6. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  7. Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
  8. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
