Job Description:

The QT TTO consists of a small team (~9) of highly motivated professionals providing world class software development and operational support to a national customer. The ideal candidate for this position will be expected to leverage and integrate his/her front-end and back-end UI Spring Boot software development skills to assist with the design, development, and deployment of software that will support a cloud-enabled data transport service. The QT development team consists of software developers, system engineers, test engineers, and system administrators. Candidates for this position will serve as a bridge between the back-end and front-end, which requires a well-rounded skillset. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of core Java concepts, including object-oriented programming (OOP), data structures, and algorithms. The selectee will work with AWS, Azure and Google, Cloud Platform environments to integrate cloud storage APIs and environments.

The Level 2 Software Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

Front-End Development Skills:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript:

• Solid foundation in these core web technologies.
• Understanding of responsive design principles.

Modern JavaScript Frameworks:

• Proficiency in at least one modern framework like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Understanding of component-based architecture.

UI/UX Design Principles:

• Understanding of user experience and user interface design.
• Ability to create user-friendly interfaces.

Java Programming:

• Core Java concepts
• Data Structures and algorithms
• Object Oriented Design
• Java 8 features
• Object Oriented Design

Spring Framework:

• Deep understanding of Spring Core, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot.
• Dependency injection, AOP, and Spring Data.

RESTful APIs:

• Designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Understanding HTTP methods and JSON data exchange.

Spring Security:

• Implementing authentication and authorization.
• Securing APIs and web applications.

Data Persistence:

• JPA/Hibernate for database interactions.
• SQL and NoSQL database knowledge (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript:

API Integration:

• Consuming RESTful APIs from front-end applications

Version Control (Git):

• Proficiency in using Git for code management.

Testing:

• Unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit and Jest.

DevOps Practices:

• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes (beneficial).

Additional Valuable Skills:

Cloud Platforms:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Microservices Architecture:

• Understanding of microservices principles.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Effective communication with back-end developers, designers, and other team members.

Qualifications:

• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
