Job Duties

This is a restricted position, which is solely funded by the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) grant for a 5 year period ending 6/30/2029. The availability of funding is scheduled for review annually. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.

Responsible for video conference and webinar applications in support of Emergency Preparedness and Response, Distance learning and other VDH programs. Administer and maintain, complex projects associated with video conference, networks, client server technologies, databases, applications software, communication interfaces, troubleshooting and testing. Actions have agency wide impact in terms of information, integrity, reliability, user efficiency, and cost of operation. Ensures network bandwidth consumption is controlled. Provides training for end users on video conference and streaming video equipment. Maintains up to date scheduling, site contact list, and web pages. Researches, analyzes and documents new or revised procedures; install and maintains hardware and software. Acts as backup administrator for Public Health Preparedness systems.

Minimum Qualifications

- Candidate must possess knowledge and skills concerning basic server concepts;
disaster recovery; storage management; distributed, client/server computing;
and anti-virus protection.
- Demonstrated expertise and considerable experience using Webinar applications such as Teams, Webex and Zoom
- Experience with H.323 and Sip video conferencing.
- Experience with room AV systems, Q Sys tablet controllers, Poly cameras, ceiling mics, speakers or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to schedule and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.
- Strong IT project management skills, including ability to document, analyze.
data, and successfully interact with all levels of users.

Additional Considerations

- Prior experience with software analysis, design, and development.
- Prior experience with videoconferencing.
