Title: GIS Technician
Location: Remote (Louisiana-based project)
Duration: 3+ Years


Job Description:

A long-term contract opportunity is available for a GIS Technician to support a public sector initiative focused on geospatial data development and management. The selected candidate will be responsible for editing and maintaining GIS data, creating maps, and assisting with the configuration and support of GIS platforms. This position involves working closely with GIS program managers, specialists, engineers, and data architects to ensure accurate and up-to-date spatial information.


Required Skills and Experience:

Candidates must have hands-on experience with the following:

  • Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ESRI, Safe Software, VertiGIS, and similar tools

  • Data Editing, including:

    • Attribute editing

    • Geometric feature editing

    • Metadata management

  • LRS (Linear Referencing System) Route and Event editing

  • Map creation and development for visualization and analysis

  • Ability to support other GIS team members including Program Managers, Specialists, Configuration Engineers, Data Architects, and Analysts as needed
