Description
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our systems and networks against cyber threats while ensuring robust incident response capabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in cybersecurity tools and frameworks to protect organizational assets.
Responsibilities:
Lead and execute cybersecurity incident responses, identifying and mitigating threats efficiently.
Configure, maintain, and monitor network security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Utilize tools such as Splunk and Crowdstrike to analyze security events and ensure system integrity.
Collaborate on the implementation and management of cloud-based security solutions, including AWS.
Perform audits and vulnerability assessments to identify security risks and recommend proactive solutions.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for security protocols and incident response procedures.
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in high-pressure situations to meet organizational objectives.
Provide expert-level support for network and software configuration management.
Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies to enhance security posture.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure awareness of security measures and incident resolutions.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a cybersecurity incident response role.
Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
Security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent are preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of data communication concepts and network/software configuration management.
Hands-on experience with tools like Splunk, Crowdstrike, and cloud environments like AWS.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
Exceptional documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
