Vaco is looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Product Leader to drive the strategic direction, development, and deployment of an advanced in-store Point of Sale (POS) Data Hub across multiple restaurant brands. The Sr. Product Manager will oversee a Software Product Team, develop the product roadmap, work closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams, and guide the product development process to ensure it aligns with the company’s strategic goals. This individual will play a vital role in leading a globally distributed, multi-vendor, multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in product leadership from within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector, and possess key skills in data-driven prioritization, conflict resolution, and effectively leading teams to make decisions, even in the absence of clear consensus.

Job Scope:
- Oversee the flow of data between POS systems and external applications, ensuring robust and scalable integrations.
- Partner closely with internal departments, external tech collaborators, and solution vendors to coordinate successful rollouts and integration efforts.
- Manage all phases of the product lifecycle—from discovery and planning through execution, budgeting, and delivery tracking for the POS Data Hub.
- Product vision and roadmap planning - translate diverse business requirements into a unified, forward-looking product roadmap.
- Define and communicate a clear product vision, strategic direction, and measurable outcomes for success. Partner with engineering, design, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the roadmap supports business priorities.
- Backlog Ownership & Feature Prioritization - Refine and manage product backlogs, using prioritization methods like MoSCoW, RICE, or WSJF. Break down high-level initiatives into actionable deliverables aligned with product goals. Evaluate and balance immediate business demands with long-term product growth and scalability.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership - Navigate differing viewpoints and priorities to drive stakeholder consensus. Lead multi-disciplinary teams, fostering alignment between technical, business, and third-party contributors. Maintain effective working relationships with external solution providers such as POS, HR/payroll, or analytics platforms.
- Product Delivery & Agile Execution - Apply Agile/Scrum practices to support incremental development and iterative releases. Plan releases strategically, define MVPs, and coordinate product rollouts in alignment with market needs. Proactively identify and mitigate risks while managing cross-team dependencies to ensure timely launches.
- Customer-First Product Thinking - Collect and analyze feedback from users, support teams, and business units to guide product enhancements. Focus on improving user flows and experiences within POS environments. Leverage data to inform decisions, drive optimizations, and validate product assumptions.
Requirements:
- Over 10 years of product management experience, preferably including leadership roles (with or without direct reports).
- 5+ years of experience working within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector with a strong grasp of the technology landscape in quick-service dining.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise Point of Sale (POS) systems (Qu, Aloha, Toast, Clover, etc.) , particularly within Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) environments.
- Prior experience working with geographically distributed teams across various time zones.
- Prior experience working with and collaborating with vendors and third-party service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-native POS platforms and SaaS delivery models.
- Proven ability to connect POS technologies with operational reporting and backend systems - SQL and NoSQL database concepts.
- Prior experience with POS integration architecture, establishing API’s (familiarity design standards – REST, pub/sub), and payment processing systems.
- Prior experience modeling business processes using diagrams – process flows, data flow, and architecture diagrams.
- Solid experience with Agile practices and iterative product development.
- Prior experience collaborating with development teams with a strong understanding of development best practices including Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Doman-Driven Design approaches. This includes familiarity with design documents, architecture diagrams, and pseudocode.
- Prior experience writing business requirements as user stories and organizing stories based on priority, size, dependency and complexity.
- Demonstrated strength in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a knack for turning insights into actionable priorities, with the ability to anticipate business needs and present new ideas.
