Duration: 6+ months
Location: 100% Remote
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant aligns with a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns with one of the eight core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Java Developer, you will join Turnberry's Product Design & Development practice and consult in the Digital Transformation service. Turnberry's Digital Transformation service provides strategy and implementation consulting to help organizations adopt modern technology to excel in today's digitally-driven market; in the Product Design and Development practice, we leverage modern technology to design and build awesome cloud-native applications.
Responsibilities:
Rapid development of prototypes/concepts along with regular development
Experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices
Contribute to our 2024 goals for enhancing the Commerce platform
Design, code, test, and provide tier 5 engineering support for the Commerce platform and related software
Help us monetize on third-party application products and services offered
Qualifications:
Must be self-motivated, and ability to work independently, fast learner, pays attention to detail
Ability to think like an architect, produce high quality code
Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures
Use TDD and ATDD, using Cucumber-Jvm, ScalaTest
Must be able to build REST services from the ground up
Technologies: Scala 2.11, Http4s, Play2, Akka, Kafka, ELK, Scalaz, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Amazon Web Service (Lambda, S3, Kinesis, SQS)
Strong in OOP & Functional paradigm
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, engineering, management information systems or combination of education and equivalent working experience
Minimum 4 years' experience in Scala
Strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Jira)

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 or the hourly equivalent.
