Senior Systems Engineer - Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and customer support of next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms. This role works closely with cross-functional R&D teams to advance sequencing technologies used in diagnostics and life sciences applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support NGS workflows, including sample prep, library prep, and sequencing
- Execute wet-lab experiments and analyze experimental data
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation testing
- Troubleshoot prototype instruments and support customer runs
- Document results, write SOPs, and support continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or related field
- 1-5 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on wet-lab experience with PCR and NGS workflows
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar data analysis tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on NGS experience (sample prep, library prep, sequencing)
- Experience with prototype instruments, medical devices, or biotech R&D
- DOE and statistical analysis experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
