Staff Software Engineer Fintech Platform (Remote with Quarterly Travel)

We re seeking a Staff Software Engineer to take a leading role in building and scaling our modern fintech platform, transforming how financial and insurance workflows are executed. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you ll write production-grade code, mentor peers, and drive architectural decisions that accelerate product delivery at scale.

As a member of our core engineering team, you ll work across the full stack in close collaboration with Product, Design, and Data teams. You ll translate complex user and business challenges into simple, elegant, and maintainable solutions all while fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

What You ll Do

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of complex features: scope, design, build, test, and ship code that improves user workflows.

• Act as a technical lead on critical initiatives, ensuring timely delivery with high quality.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to decompose ambiguous problems into scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Deliver AI-driven solutions that streamline decision-making and workflows.

• Build and enhance internal APIs and integrations using a modern TypeScript stack (React + Node.js).

• Champion best practices in testing, code review, observability, and CI/CD.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.

• Influence architecture, tooling, and technical culture to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering production software in modern web stacks (7+ years preferred).

• Proven technical leadership on large-scale or complex projects.

• Prior experience in talent-dense environments such as later-stage startups or Big Tech (required).

• Strong background in building compliance-heavy or data-intensive systems.

• Fluency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

• Comfortable leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate productivity.
