Job Description
Job Title: IT SOX Senior Associate
Location: San Rafael, CA (Hybrid Onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Job Type: 40hrs/wk, 12 month contract
We re looking for an experienced IT SOX Senior Associate to help drive key compliance initiatives and support IT controls across a dynamic, cross-functional environment. This hybrid role requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead IT SOX coordination, including walkthroughs, control testing, and evidence management
- Manage IT portions of the SOX roadmap, including RCM updates and control validations
- Collaborate with IT and business owners to assess risk, identify control gaps, and implement remediation
- Evaluate third-party attestation reports and assess related user entity controls
- Support external and internal audit engagements, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues
- Apply frameworks such as ITIL, COSO, and CoBIT in assessments of ITGCs, automated controls, key reports, and interfaces
- Continuously improve audit processes through data analytics or automation tools like Alteryx
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science, or related fields
- 4+ years of IT SOX, IT Audit, or Risk Management experience
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and Workiva
- Strong understanding of ITGCs, IT dependencies, and risk frameworks
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
- CIA, CPA, or CISA certification
- Familiarity with tools such as Oracle, OBIEE, HCM, Ariba, Coupa, and Blackline
- Experience with third-party risk assessments and SOC 1 reports
