Job Details

Position Summary: College Ave is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & Reporting team. This role focuses on the Databricks platform, building and maintaining data pipelines and databases that power our credit analytics. We're looking for someone with strong problem-solving, logical reasoning, and technical skills to ensure our data is reliable, scalable, and secure.

Team: The Data Engineer-Credit Analytics falls under the Chief Operating Officer s remit and reports directly to the Head of Data and Reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines in Databricks.
  • Manage and improve databases to ensure accuracy, performance, and accessibility.
  • Develop efficient ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and database issues quickly.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, scalability, and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in data engineering, database management, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or a similar cloud data platform.
  • Strong SQL skills (mid expert level).
  • Strong Python skills (mid expert level).
  • Solid experience in data and database management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and logical reasoning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and warehouse design best practices.
  • Exposure to orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory).
  • Background in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience working in cloud-based data environments.

Location:

This position is based out of our Wilmington DE office. The Data Engineer- Credit Analytics is required to be in-office three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
