The Sustainability Manager is responsible for leading the Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy and implementation across NABORS and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the Analytics, Excellence, Integrity & Sustainability System (AXIS) Director, the Sustainability Manager will drive alignment with global standards, oversee compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements, and ensure integration of Sustainability principles into business operations and reporting frameworks.


The Sustainability Manager will lead initiatives across NABORS?s operations, aligning corporate activities with international sustainability frameworks (e.g., CSRD, SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD) and internal strategic objectives. The role requires cross-functional coordination, data-driven decision-making, and external stakeholder engagement. The Sustainability Manager will also support the development of policies, systems, and reporting tools to monitor performance and guide continuous improvement.


  • Lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies, targets, and performance metrics in collaboration with corporate leadership and operational teams.

  • Align sustainability practices with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and international frameworks such as CSRD, SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD.

  • Coordinate sustainability materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement initiatives, ensuring transparent communication with investors, clients, and community partners.

  • Manage sustainability reporting processes, including sustainability disclosures, annual sustainability reports, and third-party assurance efforts.

  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, supply chain, human resources, and HSE teams to ensure sustainability risk mitigation is embedded across functions.

  • Identify and evaluate emerging sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and investor expectations, providing strategic insights to the leadership.

  • Represent NABORS in sustainability forums, regulatory meetings, and industry working groups focused on sustainability topics.

  • Monitor sustainability-related programs, including emissions management, diversity & inclusion initiatives, ethical supply chain practices, and data governance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in sustainability, HSE, or corporate responsibility leadership roles, preferably in industrial, energy, or extractive sectors.

  • Required Skills:

    • Strong ability to translate complex data and technical topics into compelling narratives.
      oProficiency in professional, transparent, and concise writing tailored to various audiences (investors, regulators, employees, etc.).

    • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills (written and verbal).

    • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at all organizational levels.

    • Analytical mindset with capacity to manage complex datasets, identify gaps, and drive insights.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.

    • Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    • Cloud collaboration tools (Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, Engineering, or related field.

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (CSRD, SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD)

    • Proven track record in sustainability reporting and data analysis.

    • Experience with sustainability software platforms and sustainability data tools is a plus.
