Job Title: Workday Financial Solution Architect
Location: remote
Duration: Long term
Role Overview:
The Workday Financial Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing end-to-end Workday Financial Management solutions.
This role requires a deep understanding of Workday Financials, business processes, and integration architecture.
The architect will partner with business stakeholders, finance leaders, and technical teams to ensure scalable, efficient, and future-ready Workday Financial implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and solutioning of Workday Financials modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Procurement, Banking & Settlement, Projects, Grants, etc.).
Translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions aligned with best practices.
Define overall solution architecture, integration strategy, reporting framework, and security model for Workday Financials.
Partner with business leaders and finance stakeholders to drive process improvement and system optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HCM, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Integrations to ensure seamless end-to-end solutions.
Provide architectural oversight during Workday implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
Define data conversion, migration, and reconciliation strategies for financial data.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and internal controls within the Workday solution.
Mentor consultants, analysts, and functional leads on Workday capabilities and solution design.
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Financials during system design, testing, and deployment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (Master s preferred).
8+ years of experience in ERP/Financial Systems, with at least 5+ years in Workday Financials.
Strong functional expertise in multiple Workday Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Procurement, Projects, etc.).
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Lead in large-scale Workday Financials implementations.
Strong knowledge of Workday reporting (Advanced, Composite, Prism), integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio), and security.
Deep understanding of finance operations, accounting principles, and compliance frameworks.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Workday certification(s) in Financial Management preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with global finance implementations and multi-currency, multi-entity environments.
Exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning, Prism Analytics, or Supply Chain Management.
Experience with data migration tools and reconciliation strategies.
Consulting background with Workday implementation partners is a plus.
