Job overview and responsibilities
- Evaluates the financial and strategic value that various types of aircraft bring to United's route network as well as evaluate the potential value for the network of various fleet strategies, aircraft acquisition, and retirement opportunities
- Works with the Finance and Operations groups to optimize our fleet plan to support our domestic and international network
- Forecast aircraft financial performance across a diverse set of markets to help build the future of our fleet, which currently consists of over 1,300 mainline and express aircraft
- Evaluate the timing of aircraft inductions and retirements, from a network perspective, to help build our fleet plan and shape the long-term capacity and growth plan for the airline
- Forecast models to evaluate the revenue and cost performance to make recommendations on aircraft purchase, deployment, and retirement opportunities
- Analyzing aircraft financial performance across our route network to understand the value they bring to United's route network
- Evaluating growth scenarios to determine the financial and strategic flexibility of our aircraft order book
- Managing our long-term growth plan to align with strategic network objectives
- Working cross-functionally with key stakeholders in Network Planning, Finance, Operations, Corporate Real Estate, Revenue Management, and others to enable our fleet growth

Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in business, Finance, Economics, Transportation/Logistics, Mathematics, or related area of study
- 2-4 years professional analytical work experience or 1 year of Aircraft Scheduling/Planning experience required
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience with data analysis and financial modeling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills; ability to take complex problems and build logical solution frameworks
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
