Roles/Responsibilities:
This position performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience. The position will ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline, the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation.
Mandatory Skills:
- 8 years Required: Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements
- 8 years Required: Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
- 8 years Required: Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience
- 8 years Required: Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
- 8 years Required: Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
- 5 years Required: Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
- 5 years Required: Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
Desirable Skills
- 3 years Preferred: Documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements"
- 3 years Preferred: Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"
- 2 years Preferred: Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
- 1 year Preferred: Experience with Teacher Incentive Allotment program, federal/state grant programs, or student outcome data
