Job Title: Jira Administrator
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Work Location: Silver Spring, MD (Remote)

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Jira Administrator to support the NESDIS Integrated Information Services-II (NIIS-II) contract who will be responsible for the support for our NOAA client in Silver Spring, MD. The Atlassian Jira Administrator will manage Jira Software (Data Center), Jira Service Management (Data Center) and Confluence (Data Center). Day-to-day responsibilities will include operation and maintenance of Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket (Data Center) hosted in AWS. You will be troubleshooting any issues that arise with our Atlassian Suite, providing technical solutions to operational problems contributing to upgrades/releases, and implementing new functionality, and providing the overall upkeep and maintenance of Jira/Confluence instances. You will also be working with company partners to define requirements for new and existing projects, advanced customizations, automation, and integrations.

This position is currently remote but must be available if a hardware (or other) issue warrants on-site troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Data Center versions of JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, Confluence, and BitBucket, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations.
  • Serve as Internal SME for Jira, JSM, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Meet with stakeholders to identify JIRA Project, Confluence space and BitBucket project needs and implement them as appropriate.
  • Architect and maintain permissions across PROD vs DEV and instances of Atlassian's products.
  • Provide User Management and grant user permissions in accordance with role given by the company.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Install, manage, administer, and support Jira, Confluence and BitBucket add-ons, plugins, and extensions.
  • Troubleshoot issues, communicate with process owners, and continue to improve support processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering, or other comparable degree

Experience/Skills:
  • 5+ years of Jira Software, Jira Service Management and Confluence software administration experience as well as creating custom workflows, fields, conditions, post-transitions, and other project components in Jira
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux Administration, such as reading system logs, applying patches, updating Jira, etcPrior Experience with Data Centers, On Prem and/or Cloud
  • Must possess experience documentation and SOP creation
  • Strong and effective verbal and communications skills
  • 2+ years of experience with postgresql
  • Working knowledge of AWS (helpful)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with stakeholders

Required Certification(s)
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Current
  • VMware (VCP) Certification

Desired Certification(s):
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $92,309- $120,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
