Job Description

Job Title: Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Location: Salt Lake City, UT


Job Summary


We are looking for a skilled and dependable Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of commercial HVAC systems across office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, industrial plants, and more.

Key Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, air handlers, and heat pumps.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, seasonal start-ups, and system inspections.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues, providing professional and timely solutions.
  • Replace or repair compressors, motors, fans, belts, sensors, valves, and other mechanical components.
  • Document service activities, recommendations, parts used, and findings accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to coordinate service calls and follow-ups.
  • Maintain tools, and vehicle inventory, and uphold job site safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Stay up to date on HVACR industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.


Qualifications


  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC service or maintenance.
  • EPA Universal Certification required; Utah HVAC license a plus.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical troubleshooting, and DDC/BAS controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using gauges, meters, laptops/tablets, and diagnostic tools.
  • Valid driver s license and clean driving record; ability to travel locally to job sites throughout Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with building automation systems (Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, etc.).
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Experience with rooftop units, chilled water systems, and hydronic heating systems.
