Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As the HW Production Support Engineer, you will enable the successful delivery of the satellite RF hardware into the Kuiper satellite integration line. Consequently, you will work with the hardware engineering team and the production teams. This position requires a technical understanding of functions of the RF hardware and strong lab and test skills. You must be able to work effectively cross-functionally with multiple disciplines.

In this role you will:
Troubleshoot non-performing flight RF hardware units, determine next steps, and lead the resolution plan to full completion
Work closely with the test engineering team to improve test stability, reduce test time and guaranty the quality of the measurement data.
Implement design changes to hardware to improve unit performance going forward
Track performance trends of units in high volume space production line
Work closely with production manufacturing engineering to improve process flow and reduce test errors or workmanship errors.
Work closely with the quality and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure high quality space flight hardware
Troubleshoot and repair circuits and fixtures.

Key job responsibilities
Will work cross-functionally on collaboration to fluently engage with diverse engineering disciplines, effectively advocate for RF hardware in production, and ensure alignment of stakeholders for overall production rate
Facilitate the production of high performance, space flight Ka-Band and V-band frequency converters, Front End RF, LNAs and SSPAs.
Support manufacturing engineers on production testing of RF avionics components and systems
Support test engineering on test methods, efficiencies, and accuracy
Troubleshoots and repairs circuits, fixtures, and test setups.
Track various KPIs from production and production testing and communicate regularly with management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or 3+ years of equivalent relevant experience
- Experience coordinating amongst diverse disciplines (software, production, reliability) to drive full-lifecycle system development
- Experience with RF/ microwave test of receivers, transmitters and sub-systems up to 50 GHz.
- Experience with design or sustaining (debug) of complex digital systems containing FPGA or ASIC.
- Experience debugging Linux-based systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting failed units using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, etc.
- Excellent understanding of the test and measurement metrology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering and 5 years of industry experience in RF/microwave circuits or communication theory
- Experience performing cascade analysis and simulation of communication components
- Thorough understanding of RF passive and active components and circuitry
- Knowledge of digital communication systems, spread spectrum, forward error correcting codes (FEC), single and multi-carrier techniques, modulation types such as PSK, APSK, QAM, OFDM
- Understanding of electromagnetic propagation and antenna systems
- Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers
- Experience mentoring engineers in engineering best-practices and domain-specific technical principles

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
