Senior Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a highly experienced and technically exceptional Senior Java Developer to lead the development of high-volume, real-time streaming applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, understands production support inside and out, and can architect resilient systems that run autonomously in production.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop advanced Java applications for real-time message processing using streaming data
* Build and deploy applications in Kubernetes, ensuring automatic scaling and high availability
* Integrate with Azure Event Tab (JetBlue's alternative to Kafka) for streaming infrastructure
* Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, and preferably Azure Cosmos DB
* Implement advanced concepts for NoSQL data modeling and performance optimization
* Embed production-grade features into the application including CPU tuning, logging, and monitoring
* Provide hands-on production support, ensuring systems are self-healing and resilient
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operations

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Java Developer in high-volume, real-time environments
* Deep expertise in Java, especially in streaming and asynchronous processing
* Strong understanding of Kubernetes, including auto-scaling and container orchestration
* Experience with Azure cloud services, particularly Azure Event Tab and Cosmos DB
* Solid background in NoSQL databases and production-grade application design
* Demonstrated ability to support and maintain applications in production environments

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with observability tools and writing self-monitoring code
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
* Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
