Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with deep expertise in SQL, data analysis, and regulatory reporting within the banking or capital markets domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial data, be proficient in BI tools, and possess the ability to interpret complex datasets to drive business insights and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements related to financial and regulatory data.
- Perform deep-dive data analysis using SQL and other data tools to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and data models.
- Work closely with data engineering and reporting teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Interpret and analyze regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel, CCAR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID) and translate them into data and reporting solutions.
- Conduct data quality checks and root cause analysis for data issues.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support UAT and validation of data/reporting solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Banking or Capital Markets.
- Strong command of SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Proven experience with regulatory reporting and understanding of financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data visualization).
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to look at data and make sense of it.
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and metadata management is a plus.
- Experience with data tools (e.g., Alteryx, SAS, Python, R) is an asset.
