RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Austin, TX that is seeking a Network Security Engineer. This position requires being onsite five days a week, including for contractors, due to the need for immediate response to network issues.
Summary:
We are seeking a Network Security Engineer, holding either a CCNP or PCNSE certification, to support a complex network, with about 30 firewalls and 600 switches, serving thousands of users and passengers daily. You will utilize advanced technical expertise to enhance network security and segmentation architecture, developing and implementing data security measures to protect IT and OT systems from cyber threats. This role includes continuous monitoring, risk assessment, and proactive adjustments to security protocols, ensuring the safety and integrity of critical systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of related experience
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for experience up to two (2) years
* Industry certifications may be considered as substitution for education
* Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years
* Knowledge of data networks, systems, security and privacy capabilities, and security and privacy tools
* Knowledge of principles and practices of systems and network operating system implementation and support
* Skill in data analysis and problem solving
* Skill in documenting and maintaining complex application and process or configuration information
* Skill in installing and maintaining applications, operating systems, or equipment
* Ability to collaborate and compile clear and concise reports
* Ability to perform complex information security and privacy analysis, audits, reviews, and other logistics requirements and performance reporting
* Ability to document and flowchart computer-based systems
* Ability to understand audit data, documents, and reports
* Ability to facilitate and deliver training
* Must be very strong in Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco firewalls, routing protocols, and Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in designing and implementing complex and secure networks
* Experience in configuring and managing NextGen Firewalls, including Palo Alto, SonicWALL, and Cisco ASA
* Experience in setting up Site-to-Site and client VPNs with MFA
* Experience in configuring and managing Identity Services Engine (ISE) systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
