This is a Fortune 50 intrapreneurial role, requiring a bias to action, strategic mindset, excellent internal stakeholder engagement skills, non-linear judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and experience with coarse decision-making. Contribute to early-stage problem discovery, opportunity analysis and concept definition

What You'll Do:

For each project, within time-boxed constraints, you will:

  • Conduct grass-roots customer empathy and initial market research using interviews, focus groups, surveys, and secondary sources leveraging existing insights whenever possible.
  • Define initial customer persona and problem hypotheses using human-centered design principles.
  • Design and deploy with team input low-fidelity hypothesis testing to rapidly validate, iterate and generate critical insights that refine the customer definition and pain/gain/unmet opportunity spectrum.
  • Conduct market sizing with team input and build simplified financial models with scenarios that justify an investment thesis.
  • Provide input into stress-tested business model lean canvasses for each recommended opportunity with team input.
  • Prepare material for strategic "pitches" on whether an idea should proceed/pause/perish/pivot.
  • Exhibit courage and objectivity to ascertain when an idea is not worth pursuing and take action to pause or pivot

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in growth strategy/innovation consulting, market analysis, strategic planning, finance, program management or innovation engineering roles with automotive or digital business focus.
  • Hands-on experience with customer empathy research and low-fidelity hypothesis-based testing leading to synthesized insights, lean canvas development and a startup pitch or corporate activation
  • Experience working with leaders in large organizations and demonstrated ability to influence, cross-functionally align OR working for startup companies or team
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • The desire and demonstrated ability to be both creative and technically minded

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • MBA and operational scale-up experience are a strong plus
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with or for startups and/or with corporate innovation.
