Role: OpenShift Architect

Location: Bellevue, WA or Dallas, TX

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Architect to join our team to design, implement, and manage scalable containerized environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OpenShift (on-premises and/or cloud) and a strong understanding of DevOps practices, Kubernetes orchestration, and enterprise-grade architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Evaluate and implement OpenShift-based containerization strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or ArgoCD.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and governance.
  • Define and enforce container image lifecycle policies, including security, versioning, and compliance.
  • Optimize the performance, scalability, and availability of containerized applications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on best practices with OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application deployment issues.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT with a minimum of 5 years in OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker, container registries, and container security.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid cloud OpenShift deployments.
  • Proficiency with Helm, Ansible, and Terraform for automation and configuration.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and security hardening for container workloads.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or similar.
  • Experience with service mesh and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Familiarity with GitOps frameworks.
  • Background in networking, load balancing, and ingress controllers.
