Job Title: IT Subject Matter Expert - Healthcare Systems
Pay Rate: $130.00 - $160.00/hr. plus travel expenses
Location: Remote (Travel Required - 50%+)
Type: Contract (6 months+)
Hours: 40 hrs/week (Assessment Phase), 30 hrs/week (Implementation Phase)
About the Role
We re hiring an experienced IT Subject Matter Expert to lead a strategic assessment and implementation across a network of 12 hospitals and a central corporate office. This is a high-impact consulting role focused on application rationalization, Cerner optimization, and IT transformation.
What You ll Do
- Conduct a 2-3 month assessment of IT systems across all hospital sites
- Evaluate Cerner usage, billing systems, and bolt-on applications
- Identify redundancies and develop a rationalization roadmap
- Lead a 4-6 month implementation phase, transitioning ownership to client teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to unify IT functions across the organization
- Travel to hospital sites across the mid-west for in-person assessments and coordination
Who You Are
- Former CIO or senior IT leader in a health system (strongly preferred)
- Proven healthcare IT consulting experience
- Deep knowledge of Cerner and hospital billing systems
- Skilled in application rationalization and IT transformation
- Able to build trust and credibility with technical teams and executives
Engagement Details
- Full-time during assessment, part-time during implementation
- Travel required across mid-west hospital sites
