Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Site Reliability Engineer. Senior. Analyze system performance end-to-end, from the clients (browsers) to the database, with a special focus on the back-end and infrastructure elements. Propose and validate solutions to bottlenecks that the operations and development teams will implement and test under his/her guidance. Perform a detailed assessment of the current end-to-end infrastructures performance from the client to the database, including all systems dependencies, and report findings in actionable items to the development and operations teams; operate and improve the site by implementing monitoring, automation, redundancy and business continuity planning; develop and maintain tools for debugging and monitoring; instrument existing code and/or write performance-dedicated applications to enable fine-grain tracking of speed bottlenecks; graphically report, in near real-time, application performance as perceived by our customers; and recommend and advocate best practices and tools in the areas of performance and availability throughout the Security engineering community. Required Qualifications:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Mathematics, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Two (2) years of experience with the following: developing high-availability, large scale web-based applications; python or javascript; PHP, Perl, or other scripting language; Linux/Unix; Java/J2EE architectures; SQL and PL/SQL procedures; continuous delivery tools like Ansible; internet and networking protocols; version control systems like Git and Perforce; and monitoring tools such as Grafana.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $142147 - $221400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
