Job Title: Expert Contract Manager
Job Location: Oakland, CA
Job Type: Full Time / Perm / Direct Hire
Job Description:
Pay Range: $133400yr - $138400yr

Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier relationship management for critical system integration partners.
  • Manage complex contracts and change order terms, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Develop detailed contract scorecards to measure vendor performance.
  • Facilitate vendor performance discussions and negotiate dispute resolutions.
  • Design innovative approaches and tools to solve complex business problems.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Train stakeholders on contract policy, interpretation, and compliance.
  • Provide QA/QC oversight for contract performance and develop audit plans.
  • Track program contracts, obligations, and compliance activities.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to terms and identify non-compliance.
  • Prepare reports on compliance activities and outcomes.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience managing complex sourcing strategies, contract compliance, and system integrator services for large-scale digital transformations.
  • Proven ability to minimize value leakage and manage sophisticated vendor relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and contract management systems (SRM, Ariba, SAP).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict constructively and balance quality with results.
Should Have:
  • Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate future risks and opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements impacting utility operations.
  • Ability to prioritize workload independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Education:
  • Master s degree in a related discipline.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
  • Experience with QA/QC for contract documents, process development, and continuous improvement.
  • Utility industry and pipeline construction experience is a strong plus.
