Senior Data Analyst

Our client is looking to add a motivated and resourceful problem solver to join their established analytics department as a Senior Data Analyst. The Data Analytics team is responsible for leveraging data from across the enterprise to improve the member experience and increase operational efficiency through creative solution design.

A successful Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for deeply understanding the needs of the organization and determine how to best deliver insights to our end users. The ideal candidate will be technically comfortable with evolving requirements, possess a curious and passionate analytical mindset, and be able to work with other analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to assist in the creation of a wide variety of analytical solutions. The Senior Data Analyst, supporting the Claims Strategy function within Data Analytics, will closely collaborate with Health & Welfare department and the cross departmental Claims Center of Excellence steering committee. A successful candidate will advance strategic initiatives by leveraging data to assist stakeholders in their decision-making processes. Together, they will identify opportunities, establish key performance metrics, and develop solutions that drive impactful change while enabling stakeholders to effectively monitor and track the value of these outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop robust and comprehensive analytical solutions for complex business problems in partnership with internal clients

Frame hypothesis-driven analyses and articulate analytical insights to educate and influence decisioning for business stakeholders at various levels / from diverse backgrounds

Collaborate with data engineering, database administrators and various developers to construct and continually improve data pipelines and processes

Create interactive dashboards and automated reports to maximize the impact of data-driven insights throughout the organization

Conduct timely exploratory data analysis to support the analytics team in handling ad-hoc requests

Remain up to date with industry trends and best practices, continually seeking opportunities to enhance knowledge of internal data processes, sources, and tools, with a particular focus on Health & Welfare

Serve as a mentor, guiding team members on expanding their capabilities and understanding of Health & Welfare processes and data sources.

Follow best practices for project documentation and solution version control

Required Qualifications:

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, communicate and collaborate in a team environment and set plans to meet business objectives

Strong problem-solving skills, a passion for quality & attention to detail, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results with clarity and context

Highly proficient in SQL, capable of reading and manipulating existing scripts, and adept at crafting new logic that integrates multiple data sources.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, aggregate, analyze, and visualize significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint)

Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts including regression, distributions, statistical tests, and forecasting

Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R. A strong desire to learn or expand expertise is strongly preferred

Education/Background (R-Required, P-Preferred)

R 3+ years of experience in a project-based role involving data science, data analysis, visualizations, and communication/sharing of findings

R 3+ years of experience working with healthcare specific data

R BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a Related Technical Field

P MS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a Related Technical Field
