Who You Are:

You are a senior-level wireless engineer with strong hands-on experience supporting 4G LTE and 5G RAN technologies, capable of contributing to architecture evaluation, lab validation, and deployment readiness efforts. You bring a deep understanding of wireless access technologies and enjoy working in fast-paced environments where new technologies are evaluated, tested, and prepared for real-world implementation across enterprise and service provider networks.

 

As a Consultant, you’ll contribute to client engagements by delivering insights, building deliverables, and leading workstreams. You’ll be expected to bring strong analytical thinking, and a proactive mindset to solve client problems and drive transformation.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

You may work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom. The roles and responsibilities noted below pertain to the specific role listed above.

  • Support evaluation, testing, and validation of wireless RAN and 5G technologies in lab and pre-production environments
  • Assist with integration of wireless hardware, software, and network components (RAN, transport, signaling, and protocols)
  • Participate in proof-of-concept development, test planning, and performance validation for new wireless solutions
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to test firmware, software, and hardware releases
  • Contribute to test plans covering functional, performance, and operational requirements
  • Support initiatives related to network security, virtualization, and next-generation wireless architectures, including IoT-related use cases
  • Provide technical input, documentation, and status updates to project and engineering leadership
  • Work closely with clients to identify process improvements
  • Analyze business challenges and recommend technology-driven solutions
  • Support system development, integration, and testing activities
  • Develop presentations, deliverables, and implementation plans
  • Assist with proposals and business development efforts

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in wireless lab or test environments
  • Working knowledge of LTE and 5G NR protocols, RAN concepts, and RF fundamentals
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters)
  • Experience supporting wireless architecture evaluation, testing, or deployment activities
  • Ability to work across cross-functional engineering teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field
  • Prior consulting experience – in an agile environment – with a leading strategy firm, consulting practice, or consulting technology firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred
  • Past success in generating new business with existing clients
  • Good time management and collaboration skills
  • Operational experience with 4G LTE and/or 5G networks
  • Exposure to virtualized RAN, cloud platforms, or network automation tools
  • Experience working with MSOs, wireless carriers, or major network equipment vendors

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Excelacom offers competitive salaries, health and wellness benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and career growth opportunities.  For regular full-time employees, the estimated salary range is from $90,000 to $110,000.
