Job Title: Scrum Master

JOB SUMMARY

Widescope is seeking an experienced Scrum Master, who is a champion Agile principles by guiding teams and organizations in understanding and applying frameworks, methods, and techniques that foster agility. You serve as a servant leader—facilitating, coaching, mentoring, and training individuals and teams to adopt modern product development practices. You promote an environment where cross-functional teams can thrive, deliver value consistently, and continuously improve.
You embrace roles beyond your title, stepping in as Scrum Master, Team Coach, or Enterprise Coach as needed. You uphold the values of the Agile Manifesto and the twelve principles, while measuring progress through learning milestones and team effectiveness. Committed to building a learning organization, you support personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking. Above all, you embody the five Scrum values: focus, courage, openness, commitment, and respect.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for ensuring frameworks, methods and techniques that promote agility are understood and enacted.
- Ensuring that the team and organization adhere to the values of the Agile Manifesto and the twelve principles therein.
- Help employees, teams and stakeholders understand and implement modern product development practices.
- Facilitator, trainer, coach, and mentor for the team, organization, and enterprise.
- May at times fill various roles based on organizational needs and your own abilities, including Scrum Master, Team Coach, and Enterprise Coach.
- Measure progress using learning milestones.
- Support the five elements of a learning organization: personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking.
- Adhere to the five Scrum values: focus, courage, openness, commitment, and respect.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- MUST be Scrum Master Certified (SMC) - No exceptions
- 5+ years of Product and IT experience
- 1+ years leading transformation efforts spanning across at least business and technology
- 4+ years in the role of Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Coach
- 2+ years of experience applying multiple agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, LeSS
- 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple Scrum team projects
- Curriculum development and delivery
- Certified LeSS Practitioner
- Excellent English communication skills in written and spoken form
- Excellent speaking, facilitating and resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with developing DevOps practices and culture
- Scaling of Scrum Certification(s)
- Healthcare experience
- Understanding of other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
- Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices Participation in industry agile communities
- As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position will require U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit orNACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.
