Job Description Summary
The Grid Software Engineering Quality Lead will drive a cross-portfolio consolidated program to improve our product quality resulting in an increase to customer satisfaction and NPS.
Quality includes the "left side" of the quality curve by decreasing defects being released, the right side of the curve by managing incoming issues more effectively, and completely outside of the curve where expectations, requirements, and scope create a perceived quality issue.
This leader must be highly organized, collaborative and extremely operational to drive strong alignment behind our critical quality initiatives.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Champion engineering quality across the GridOS portfolio.
Develop deep expertise in Grid modernization software, including ADMS, DERMS, GridOS Connect, modeling frameworks, and cloud-native grid orchestration. Serve as the thought leader for quality engineering practices across a global, multi-product software business.
Own the quality strategy for GridOS engineering.
Define and operationalize the standards, automation frameworks, test strategies, and quality guardrails required to deliver reliable, secure, and compliant grid-software releases. Ensure quality is baked into the development lifecycle, leveraging AI from backlog definition through CI/CD, regression automation, performance, and field readiness.
Elevate engineering execution.
Drive adoption of modern quality engineering practices used at leading software companies (build-in-quality, shift-left testing, defect containment, continuous validation, deployment verification testing, and AI-assisted quality tooling). Partner with platform and application teams to set expectations, ensure consistent instrumentation, and continuously reduce MTTR and defect leakage.
Lead cross-functional quality initiatives.
Collaborate with Product, SRE/Operations, Architecture, Program Management, and Services to align quality expectations, acceptance criteria, and release standards. Influence policy decisions across the engineering function and help establish a unified quality operating model for the GridOS product line.
Guide teams through complex technical decisions.
Evaluate conflicting data, challenge assumptions, and synthesize insights from engineering, cloud operations, cybersecurity, customer feedback, and validation teams. Use data to drive decisions and ensure the highest reliability for mission-critical grid software.
Drive measurable customer impact.
Ensure every release strengthens customer trust by improving stability, compatibility, scalability, and upgrade readiness. Drive continuous improvement programs, defect reduction initiatives, and quality KPIs across all Grid Software teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of relevant engineering or quality experience).
