Job Details

Position: Senior Java Architect / Technical Lead (15+ years)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect & design scalable, cloud-native microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux (reactive & imperative stacks).
  • Lead endtoend development of event-driven systems using Apache Kafka (including streams, ktable semantics, topic strategies, tuning) .
  • Design and enforce data distribution strategies, leveraging Oracle, Redis caching, and optionally NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB/Cassandra) .
  • Implement reactive RESTful APIs with Spring WebFlux, GraphQL or gRPC/RSocket interfaces.
  • Drive Kubernetes (OpenShift/EKS/GKE) and Docker deployments, CI/CD integrations (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and IaC (Terraform, Ansible) .
  • Mentor teams in TDD/BDD (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber), performance profiling (JProfiler, NewRelic), logging/observability (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) .
  • Advocate and apply clean architecture, design patterns (CQRS, event sourcing, sagas, circuit breakers), API security (OIDC, JWT, TLS), and system reliability practices .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product) to shape high-level and low-level designs, POCs, and system evolution.
Minimum Qualifications (15+ years):
  • Strong proficiency in Java 17+, Java concurrency, streams, lambdas .
  • Extensive Spring expertise: Boot, Cloud (Config, Stream), MVC, WebFlux .
  • Deep experience building and leading Kafka-based architectures, Kafka Streams, tuning large clusters .
  • Handson knowledge of Oracle and Redis, plus familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Cassandra) .
  • Production deployments with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) .
  • Proven capability in system design, microservices architecture, high throughput, and low latency systems .
  • Experience with dev tools: Maven/Gradle, Git, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration .
  • Experience in leading engineering teams or mentoring senior engineers; good stakeholder communication .
Preferred (Nice-to-have):
  • Certification in Kubernetes (CKAD/CKA), cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), Confluent/Kafka .
  • Familiar with advanced frameworks like Quarkus, Micronaut, or Vert.x .
  • Experience with event sourcing, domain-driven design, backend-for-frontend, GraphQL, RSocket/gRPC .
  • Proficiency in profiling/performance tuning, JVM internals ( thread pools, heap tuning) .
  • Exposure to frontend frameworks (React, Angular) adds value for fullstack awareness .
