Description

SAIC is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Mission Modeling and Simulation Analysts - Engineers to join our dynamic team. The successful candidates will work closely with senior analysts and engineers to support the development and implementation of modeling and simulation (M&S) solutions for a variety of Mission Engineering projects. This role will involve contributing to operational planning, system performance analysis, and mission effectiveness studies. The ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills and a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems.

The candidates will support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Mission Integration office ( ) in the design and execution of mission engineering studies to evaluate operational mission architectures and capability gaps and assess emerging capabilities, technologies, and concepts to meet evolving joint mission objectives.

This position will be 100% onsite in Alexandria, VA.

NOTE: This position is CONTINGENT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Modeling and Simulation Activities: Participate in the design, development, and execution of M&S projects under the guidance of senior analysts. This includes creating models, running simulations, and performing data analysis to evaluate system performance and mission outcomes.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing simulation data. Use statistical and analytical methods to interpret the results and provide insights and recommendations based on the findings.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including model descriptions, simulation plans, and analysis reports. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and adheres to project standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment of M&S activities with project objectives. Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Clearance:

Required Education:
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline and at least nine (9) years of experience or Masters and at least seven (7) years of experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience in designing and execution quantitative mission-level modeling and simulation analyses / studies to assess performance, trade-offs, and impacts of systems or technology within defense or military areas.
  • 3 years using mission-level digital tools such as AFSIM, Python, R. This includes development of models for scenarios, missions, and systems; and data post-processing to include extraction, transformation, statistical analysis, and visualization of simulation outputs; and debugging simulation models and resolve software, scripting, or logic errors within model implementations.
  • 3 years experience with mission architecture (mission threads), kill chains, kill webs, and integrating models to represent DoD system-of-systems performance across domains (e.g., space, air, maritime (sea), land, cyber).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., Cameo).
